About the convention
From Friday 20 to Sunday 22 October 2028, Lions and Leos from across Victoria will gather for the 2028 Victorian Lions Convention — believed to be the first combined convention of its kind in Australia.
Something new
Something new for Victorian Lions and Leos
Most Lions conventions are run by a single district, or nationally by Lions Australia. This one sits in between.
Four districts — 201 V1-4, V3, V5 and V6 — have chosen to host together, sharing equal responsibility for the event and combining their resources to offer a richer programme than any could alone, while bringing Lions and Leos from across the state into one place.
How the weekend works
One shared convention. Four district AGMs.
The shared convention is open to every registered Lion, Leo, partner and guest. It’s where you’ll find speakers, workshops, exhibitors, recognition and the social programme.
Four district Annual General Meetings are held separately and at the same time. Each host district runs its own AGM under its own constitution, with delegates certified by its own credentials committee. Registering for the convention doesn’t by itself make you a voting delegate — your club and your district look after that.

Leos
Leos are part of the convention
Leo clubs bring young people together to serve their communities and grow as leaders. Leos are warmly welcome throughout the shared convention, and Leo activities will be announced with the programme. Leos under 18 will be able to take part with a parent or guardian’s consent.
A milestone year
2028: a remarkable year for Victorian Lions
Tony Benbow OAM is anticipated to become only the second Australian — and the first Victorian — to serve as Lions International President.
The new International President is expected to take office at the 110th Lions Clubs International Convention in Singapore in mid-2028. A few months later, Lions and Leos from across Victoria will gather at home.
Convention Committee
Four districts, one committee
The Convention Committee brings together a representative from each host district. It coordinates the shared convention by consensus, while each district remains responsible for its own AGM.
